The City of Los Angeles’ Department of Public Works (DPW) oversees the delivery of critical infrastructure, services and systems that are vital for the quality of life and public safety of city residents. FUSE worked with the City Administrative Officer to assess the current state of Public Works, evaluate options for coordinating services, and develop a long-term plan for improving accountability and service delivery. We developed a thorough review of current systems, identifying actionable opportunities and establishing goals for systems improvement. Success in this project will result in a clear path for the city in the coming years to improve accountability among city departments, clarify for residents how their street services are delivered, and become a model for other municipalities for how to solve long-term problems with well-coordinated solutions.
